United Golfers Association hosts Historic Pro-Am Golf Tournament at Four Seasons Orlando

Orlando, Fla., November 4, 2020 /blackgolfwire/ -- The United Golfers Association (UGA) announced today that they will host the Inaugural UGA Invitational Pro-Am to be held on Dec. 14, 2020, at Tranquilo Golf Club at Four Seasons Resort Orlando in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The UGA Invitational is hosting an unprecedented opportunity to enjoy a competitive round of golf with some of our most talented young Black Professional Golfers and Amateurs to be paired with business executives, celebrities, influencers and entrepreneurs.

This new event also kicks off the United Golfers Association “The Legacy Continues” Campaign to celebrate 95 years of continued efforts in growing the game. "We are so excited to host this amazing and historic event as it’s been 45 years since UGA has hosted a golf event to bring African American professional and amateur golfers together,” said UGA Executive Director Tarek “Ty” DeLavallade. "This will be an experience like none other for our national golf community and it will be celebrated as a great experience that will allow our top players to be paired with champions for diversity who will be able to see how much talent these young people really have and why they deserve the path and the ultimate dream of playing on the tour!"

The UGA Invitational Pro-Am will include players from the Advocates and Symetra Tours, Collegiate Players, and rising high school players and two living Legends. The attendees will be paired with the professional or amateur players for the event at the Tranquilo Golf Club. Some of the players are Kamaiu Johnson, Willie Mack III, Tim O’Neal, Shasta Averyhardt, Mulbe Dillard IV, Marcus Byrd, Alexis Belton, Sierra Sims, Lakareber Abe, Jim Thorpe, Jim Dent, Matthew Vital, Xeve Perez, and Morgan Horrell.

"We are thrilled to plan the prestigious UGA Invitational and are excited for this opportunity to continue furthering our goals of raising awareness and funding to support the programs," said Andy Walker, Director of the UGA Academy & Player Development. "United Golfers Association was known for its unrivaled events from 1926 to 1976 and this tournament will be like none other with an unmatched field of professional and amateur players, pre-round golf clinic, and an amazing day of competition."

All 2020 UGA tournament winners will receive a Titleist Travel Pouch along with many gifts from sponsors like Deuce Premium, Ardmore Roderick, Oncore Golf, DubLine Golf, Orca Golf Bags, Uncle Nearest, Duke and Dame, and much more for participating in the event.

The tournament site, Tranquilo Golf Club at Four Seasons Resort Orlando, is unique to Central Florida for its varying elevation, abundant wildlife and protected wetlands. In 2014, Fazio was recruited to re-invent and re-design the course as Tranquilo Golf Club. Fazio created a completely new hole, renovated the bunkers and expanded and re-positioned landscaping to create better visibility and airflow.
